I write as part of Midori’s ForteFemme intensive March 2026 Los Angeles cohort. Even prior to arriving, I had a feeling that whatever came up would leave a huge imprint on my personal and likely professional life. This three-day workshop, attended by myself and 7 other amazing, badass women, provided a deep dive into both our individual psyches and that of the greater society. We were pushed to investigate certain patterns of thought and behavior, and simultaneously challenge previously held beliefs and forms of interacting that no longer, if ever, served us, while leaning into our growing edge and what makes us unique, to more fully step into our undeniable creative force.

I especially enjoyed working with powerful femme archetypes as a way of further developing and understanding my dominant persona and how I like to play, as well as what I’m curious to experiment with and try more of. I also found helpful Midori’s definition and breakdown of sexual and sensual appetites helpful, and how we might have more success in our play by first being honest with ourselves about our present desires, then seeing where our cravings align with those of our partners.

I am grateful for the many tools–particularly pertaining to observation, communication, and self-care–and the ongoing confidence boost that this intensive provided. I remain excited for future play opportunities and how this journey of kink, fetish, and relationship dynamics continues to unfold.
